Hawaiian Beauty - Bare Mind Art
My very first Youtube. It took a little while, but I made it!
Photos I took when I visited Oahu, Hawaii this August. Beautiful memories... and these prints are for sale. :)

Wonderlands
When I was a child, I used to get into my parents' book shelves, and opened up very thick heavy books that were about museums and the exhibitions. I grew up in a small town in Japan. I never had a chance to actually visit any of the museums at that time, but I remember I used to be lost myself in the pictures of those paintings. I still vividly remember some of the paintings although I forgot a lot of artists' names... (Shame on me!)
My favorite places to get lost were Salvador Dali's paintings, especially "Melting Clocks". I lost myself in it for hours like Alice in the wonderland. It was like looking into the window and sucked into the other side of the window before you know it. I still love to see other artists' paintings and get lost in them. Now I can also create my own little wonderlands and hopefullhy many people will enjoy being lost in them.

The importance of your paintings?
I am energy. We all are. My thoughts create feelings/emotions, which create vibrations. These vibrations transfer into my art. I feel that this is something I need to do to release it through my art. When other people see my art their vibrations (perhaps frequency) match or harmonize to the vibrations released from my art. That would take the vibrations to another level and even create different vibrations. That is the beauty of the art.
Some may see the art in me and some may not. It doesn’t matter how other people perceive. I just hope my art vibrates all individuals in a good way.

Creative Energy
I think artists are spiritual. I don't mean they have the characteristic of morality. (Some may have...) But I mean more like psychic power that connects to the creative energy source.
I think there is no "bad" art. You can be better at it, but not bad. Once you find the connection to the creative energy source, you'll just expand. You'll see clearer and feel stronger. It doesn't matter if you are painter, poet, photographer or crafter. The creative energy comes from the same source.

Contrast
He became more dependent while I became more independent
He’s been suckling my breasts and watching me cry
As he got weaker I got stronger
The contrast between two
The lines are always parallel

Express Yourself
I need to write more… as much as I used to write…. Just like I’m now painting/drawing as much as I used to. I grew up in the environment “Silent is Gold”. I’ve never learned to speak up or have an opinion. I had a hard time adjusting when I first came to the USA. Everybody has very clear opinion, vision, and so on, even little children. It was shocking to me and amazed me. I used to write… I used to draw… to express myself without using my voice.
Now, I’m back to painting/drawing, just expressing anything on canvas…. And I feel good. I just can’t write like I used to in Japanese, because it’s fading away from me. But not enough vocabulary in English to express exactly how I feel or think either. Then, I thought, that’s OK. Just write. Just express it.

Tarot for today
THE POOL
Plunge into new adventure with youthful enthousiasm and childlike fearlessness. Trust, have faith, take a chance and leap!
I love it, I love it, I love it!

Valentine's Day

This was the day girls could confess boys that they like them. In Japan... in my time (many moons ago)... I remember those days...
I always had a boy I liked. Once I confessed, I felt better although it always ended up broken heart. Just the fact I let them know made me feel better. Like I did what I could do (confessed) regardless of the result. I wasn't a popular girl, so I never had a boyfriend until I became 17. He was 4 years older college guy and I was in high school.
I was a still child. He wanted to marry me but I was too scared to go through with it.
Now after one marriage and a divorce, I don't know much about love between men and women anymore. I only loved one person in my entire life. (It wasn't my ex, by the way.) It takes a lot out of you. Seems like most of people in my age don't even believe in "true love" anymore. That's sad.
Maybe I'm hopelessly romantic. Not really, but I just hope to be hopelessly romantic, I guess.
I want to believe. Someday... somewhere... with someone... that magic moment again.

When I was younger...

Probably when I was teenager...
My favorite subjects were art and music. I wasn't much of athletic and those two were only subjects that required "so called" brain. LOL!
I discovered that I didn't have much talent for music pretty quick. But I think I still have the ear for it.
Art... This was only subject I liked and I was good at. BUT, I just believed... how I'm going to make money from art??? Unless I become a big time famous artist.... right?
I got into fashion industry... not much creativity there... so I quit...
I changed my job here and there... just make a living....
And 49 years later... It hit me... It was coming back slowly when I got divorce.
Art was very kind to me... it was therapeutic. Now I believe that art can set me free. Why didn't I think of that before...
But that's ok. I'm here... I'm painting... I'm drawing... just my mind storm is rushing through...
So much catching up to do... but that's ok too. It doesn't need time. All I need is the NOW.
